Job description
Spears Manufacturing in Sylmar California, a world leader in the manufacturing and distribution of plastic valves, fittings and pipe since 1969. Due to our companies dynamic growth we are currently are looking for an individual for our key position of Plant Manager. This is a career position with a national company that has over 24 plants and distribution centers throughout the country.

This opportunity is at our Spears Manufacturing facility in Jerome, ID. which has an opening for a Plant Manager.

The pay will be commensurate with the individual’s experience and skill level.

What we are requiring:
• Prior Management History is a must
• Mechanical skills
• People skills
• Good analytical skills
• Plastic injection molding knowledge is a plus

In addition we are looking for:
• Working knowledge of Injection molding machines and processes, tooling, and manufacturing equipment.
• Floor experience, hands on, strong mechanical aptitude.
• Directs and coordinates overall plant operations consisting of all aspects of production activity.
• Ensures quality of products, producing to schedule, safely meeting requirements, communicating to all.
• Develops and recommends short and long-range plans concerning plant space, equipment, and staffing. Corrective action and discipline when necessary.
• Mentoring personnel to each individual’s potential.
• Maintains plant inventories at optimum levels to meet scheduled needs without excessive investment
• Delegates to key supervisors in production, fabrication, maintenance, packaging and barcode, shipping, receiving, planning, and related operations
• Develops and maintains a favorable employee relations climate and community relations.
• Minimizes lost time accidents and takes prompt action to eliminate unsafe acts or conditions.
• Maintains all plant buildings, equipment and grounds.
• Assures company compliance with all local regulations.
• Communicates directly with corporate office, conferring on equipment, planning, and scheduling
• Will train with existing Plant Manager, until fully knowledgeable of companies policies and procedures .
• Five years minimum experience in plastics, or related manufacturing process, and five years minimum in a supervision capacity.
